Civil War diary of Emma Meier, who either worked for or was a relative of an unknown store owner with Southern sympathies in Brunswick, Missouri, together with fifty-four letters, 1861-1864, written to her by Adolph Rupp, a Union soldier serving in Company H, 18th Infantry Regiment, Missouri Volunteers. Rupp wrote from St. Louis, and various locations in Tennessee, Alabama, and Georgia. All the letters are in German, with place locations and personal names recorded in English.
